My mobile recharge for India failed even though I entered the correct number and amount. What should I do?

Updated over a month ago

In India, most mobile numbers require an active base plan before you can add talk time, data, or other recharge packs.

A base plan is the main plan that keeps your mobile number active. It typically includes:

  • Validity for your SIM card

  • Network access

  • Basic talk time or data (depending on the plan)

If your base plan has expired or is not active, additional recharges may fail.

How to Check if Your Base Plan Is Active

  1. Open your mobile carrier’s app (such as Jio, Airtel, or Vi).

  2. Check if your base plan or active pack is still valid.

  3. If the plan has expired, recharge your base plan first, then try your recharge again.

Important:

Your recharge will only be successful if your carrier account has an active base plan.
