What documents are required to open a Beacon Money account?

To open your Beacon Money account, we need to verify your identity. This is required by Canadian regulations and helps keep your account secure.

If you have a Canadian ID

You can verify your identity using one of the following:

  • Canadian Driver’s License

  • Provincial Photo ID Card (Health Cards are not accepted)

  • Canadian Passport

  • Permanent Resident (PR) Card

If you are using a foreign passport

You can verify your identity using your valid foreign passport.

If you hold Canadian citizenship, a PR card, or a valid study or work permit, you can complete verification using just your passport.

If you do not have one of the statuses above, you will also need to upload one of the following documents:

  • Study Permit

  • Work Permit

  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)

Important:

Tourist visas and visitor visas are not accepted for identity verification.

If you have questions or need help during verification, our support team is always happy to assist.
