What documents are required to open a Beacon Money account?

To open a Beacon Money account, you need to provide one government-issued ID. We accept the following documents:

  • Canadian Passport

  • Permanent Resident Card

  • Citizenship Card (issued prior to 2012)

  • Secure Certificate of Indian Status

  • Driver’s License issued by any province

  • Provincial Services Cards issued by any province

  • Foreign Passport

For those of you using a foreign passport to sign up for a Beacon Money account, in addition to your ID, please upload your immigration document, such as your visa (study, work, Permanent Resident) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR).
