My e-Transfer Is Taking Longer Than Expected

How can I deposit money into My Beacon Money account?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Note: This FAQ covers both scenarios:

  • When you send money via Interac e-Transfer to your Beacon Money Account, and

  • When you complete a Request for Money initiated from the Beacon app (Transfer from Canadian Bank).

If your Interac e-Transfer or Transfer from Canadian Bank hasn’t arrived yet, don’t worry—this is usually caused by bank-side processing.

Why this happens

  • For First-time transfers or High value transfer, banks often take 30–40 minutes to release funds.

  • Even if your bank shows the transfer as “Sent,” they may still be holding it for verification.

  • There is no delay or manual hold on Beacon’s side—your money is deposited into your Beacon Money account as soon as your bank releases it.

In 99% of cases, the delay is resolved once the sending bank completes processing.

What to do if your transfer is taking longer

  1. Wait at least 45 minutes after sending an Interac e-transfer to your Beacon Money Account or completing a Request for Money initiated from the Beacon app.

  2. If the funds haven’t arrived:

    • Contact your bank’s support.

    • Say:

“I added money to my Beacon Money Account, but it hasn’t been received yet. Please release the transfer.”

3. Once your bank releases the funds, they will appear in your Beacon Money account automatically.

That’s it — no further action is needed in the Beacon app.
